SPECIAL EDITION
December 2001
Happy Holidays Friends and Supporters,
Well, here we are almost to the Christmas season!!!! And we at Real Rescue,
Inc. have big, exciting news !!!! We purchased a beautiful 80 acre farm
outside of Oklahoma City, just a bit North and East of Arcadia, OK. It is a beautiful tract of land
with a big barn, several other out buildings, two
mobil homes and three water wells. And, most importantly, lots of beautiful
pastureland for our wonderful dogs, cats, turtles, horses, and their people
to run, play, enjoy the sunshine and nature. Also, lots of beautiful trees
to climb, rest in the shade of, run around and sniff around (if you know
what I mean.....ha ha).
We had searched and searched for just the right place at the right price and were about to give
up when we came upon this farm. We were still unsure if we could really make it ours but
everything fell into place and it happened. Now begins the huge task of building fences,
kennels, cat yards, aviaries, turtle enclosures, and people places. Of course, we'll do what we
can, when we can. If you have thought about making any donation, large or small, now would
be a good time for us.....and for you (end of the year tax deductions!!!!!). Please understand
though, that this newsletter's main purpose is to inform all of our friends about our progress,
not a money solicitation. We always need financial support but we also appreciate the support
we receive by donations of food, dog houses, medications, and the ever important emotional
support of everyone who loves animals the way that we do.
Our Petsmart Adoptions Week-ends continue the 2nd Sat of the month at 63rd and N. May
Ave. location and the 2nd Sunday of the month at the I-40 and MacArthur location. We
currently have several young kittens, several wonderful older cats, and young and mature
sweet dogs up for adoption to loving homes.
We must say a special "Thank-you" to the dedicated staff at Wedgewood
Veterinary Clinic for all of their help with our animals and our Rescue. They have done so
much for us in so many ways and continue to do so. We appreciate them very much.
We hope everyone has a happy and safe Holiday season,
Dana and Chris Venters
